The star festival has its origins in a Chinese legend of two lovers, represented by the stars Vega the Weaver and Altair the Cowherder, separated by the Milky Way.
Only on the day of Star Festival the heavenly lovers will be able to meet.
The Star Festival is celebrated by writing wishes on colourful strips of paper and hanging them on stalks of bamboo with decorations.
